Job summary

Ciena Corporation in Ottawa, Canada, seeks a Director of the PMO to translate business priorities into coordinated technology outcomes. You will lead a lean, outcome-focused PMO and ensure portfolio visibility, delivery governance, capacity planning, and cross-functional alignment.

Reporting to senior technology and business leaders, you will simplify processes, establish ownership, manage risks and finance, and drive accountability across IT and business teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading complex technology programs or PMOs in global enterprises.
• Proven ability to translate business priorities into executable programs.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and vendor management.
• Experience with Agile, SAFe, and product delivery methodologies.
• Certifications such as PMP / PgMP / SAFe / Agile are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise technology portfolio management discipline across strategic programs and initiatives.
• Provide consolidated view of portfolio health, milestones, dependencies, risks, financials, capacity, and outcomes.
• Establish intake framework and drive prioritization based on business value and capacity.
• Define governance to optimize decisions and reduce administrative overhead.
• Deliver executive portfolio reporting and support decision making.
• Coach PMO team and drive continuous improvement across governance and delivery.
