Modern Niagara is seeking a Director, IT Infrastructure to lead the technology platforms that support corporate operations. You will own and mature network, cloud, endpoint, identity, and governance across Microsoft technologies, with hands-on leadership and strategic direction.
You will build a high-performing team, establish standards and processes, drive modernization initiatives, and partner across Cybersecurity, Data, and business units to deliver secure, scalable technology solutions.

The Director, IT Infrastructure leads the technology platforms that keep Modern Niagara's corporate operations running day to day, including enterprise networks, cloud infrastructure, endpoint management, virtualization, identity and access, Microsoft 365, and the broader Microsoft technology stack.
Reporting to the VP, Corporate Systems & IT, the Director owns infrastructure as a distinct discipline and provides both strategic direction and hands-on technical leadership. This role is responsible for building and maturing the infrastructure function, establishing technical standards and governance, leading infrastructure modernization, and ensuring the platforms supporting the organization are secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective.
Success in this role means a resilient and well-governed infrastructure environment, clear ownership across technology domains, strong infrastructure practices and standards, and a team capable of supporting Modern Niagara's continued growth and technology evolution.
Infrastructure is foundational to how Modern Niagara operates. The Director, IT Infrastructure ensures that the networks, cloud platforms, devices, identity services, collaboration tools, and underlying technology environments used across the organization are secure, reliable, and available when people need them.
This role is also an opportunity to build and mature the infrastructure function. The Director, IT Infrastructure will establish standards, clarify ownership across overlapping technology domains, strengthen disaster recovery capabilities, and lead the modernization of infrastructure and cloud platforms that support the organization’s long-term technology strategy.
Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure across network, server, cloud, endpoint, identity, and Microsoft platforms.
Establish and mature infrastructure standards, configuration baselines, architecture governance, and change management practices.
Lead infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, and data platform enablement initiatives across the organization.
Strengthen business resilience through effective backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure risk management.
Build and develop a capable infrastructure team with clear ownership and accountability across technology domains.
Partner closely with Cybersecurity, Corporate Systems, Data, and other technology and business teams to deliver secure and effective technology solutions.
Own enterprise network and connectivity infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, and ISP/circuit relationships.
Own the Hyper‑V virtualization environment and physical and virtual server administration.
Own Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, governance controls, and platform architecture.
Lead infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, and data migration initiatives across the organization.
Establish and maintain technical standards, configuration baselines, architecture governance, and change management standards across network, server, and cloud infrastructure.
Build and mature infrastructure practices and standards where formal processes and standards do not currently exist.
Own the identity and access management strategy and execution, including Entra ID, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Single Sign-On (SSO).
Establish and maintain time-bound and conditional access controls for external and third-party data access.
Partner with Cybersecurity on identity, access, and security policy requirements.
Own Microsoft 365 platform administration, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online, tenant-level configuration, and migrations.
Own Microsoft Intune policy administration, Autopilot deployment, OS imaging and deployment standards, and Autopatch rings.
Diagnose and resolve policy conflicts across different endpoint policy delivery mechanisms.
Own the Azure infrastructure supporting the organization’s data strategy, including Microsoft Fabric and OneLake architecture.
Oversee workspace and capacity administration and the infrastructure supporting Data Factory pipelines and integration runtimes.
Ensure appropriate security, identity, and governance controls are in place across the data platform, including RBAC, Key Vault, and Microsoft Purview cataloging and lineage.
Partner with the data team to ensure the underlying platform is secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-governed.
Provide platform and infrastructure ownership rather than direct ownership of data engineering, pipeline development, or data modelling.
Own the Veeam backup platform and associated infrastructure.
Lead the development and implementation of a technical Disaster Recovery Plan aligned with the corporate Business Continuity Plan.
Establish and maintain defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).
Identify and address infrastructure risks and single points of failure.
Partner with Cybersecurity on backup security requirements, Active Directory hardening, and incident response.
Directly manage infrastructure team members and provide clear direction, priorities, and accountability.
Define clear ownership boundaries across overlapping infrastructure and technology domains.
Build and develop the infrastructure team as organizational and technology scope grows.
Partner with the Director, Cybersecurity on shared infrastructure and security priorities.
Collaborate with Corporate Systems, Data, business stakeholders, vendors, and other technology teams to deliver effective infrastructure solutions.
Provide hands-on technical leadership and participate directly in troubleshooting, architecture, and implementation when required.
8-10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including at least 3 years in a formal leadership or team management role.
Deep, current, hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure infrastructure at production scale, including compute, storage, networking, and governance controls.
Deep Microsoft 365 administration experience across SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange Online, including tenant-to-tenant migrations.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, including workspace and capacity administration, Data Factory pipeline infrastructure, and Microsoft Purview cataloging and lineage.
Deep, current experience with Microsoft Intune policy design, administration, and troubleshooting, including resolving conflicts between different policy delivery mechanisms.
Proven experience designing and managing enterprise OS imaging and deployment processes at scale.
Hands-on experience with Windows Autopilot and zero-touch device provisioning.
Direct production experience administering Hyper-V virtualization environments.
Strong working knowledge of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and ISP/circuit management.
Experience owning or administering enterprise identity and access technologies, including Entra ID, PIM, PAM, and SSO.
Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery architecture, including identifying and addressing single points of failure.
Demonstrated ability to build and mature an infrastructure function, including establishing standards, governance, processes, and clear ownership where they do not already exist.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability and willingness to remain hands-on and engage directly with infrastructure technologies when required.
Experience working in a multi-site or multi-region organization.
Experience in construction, engineering, or another project-based industry.
Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Azure Administrator Associate, Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
Experience leading large-scale infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, or data migration programs.
