Purpose

The Director Insurance Partnerships – International Banking, leads and oversees the management of the Bank’s strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with retail business strategies, objectives, plans, and initiatives.

Accountabilities
  1. Lead a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  2. Identify, establish, and manage strategic partnerships to enhance the insurance value proposition across key segments in IB markets.
  3. Ensure partners drive profitable business growth and contribute meaningfully to primary client relationships.
  4. Maintain partners’ ratings at B+ AM Best or similar standards and ensure their culture and values align with Scotiabank.
  5. Negotiate and advise on partnership agreements, including terms, pricing, and revenue sharing, aligned with business objectives.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in retail product, distribution, and segment teams at local and HO levels.
  7. Collaborate with in-country teams to tailor partnership offers based on market needs and competitive landscape.
  8. Track, analyze, and report on partnership performance, taking corrective actions as needed.
  9. Ensure successful implementation and integration of partnership initiatives with in-country teams.
  10. Develop marketing and sales campaigns to maximize partnership value.
  11. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities.
  12. Represent IB insurance intermediaries and build brand awareness across markets.
  13. Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure contractual and risk assessment processes are followed.
  14. Oversee execution of global and country-specific initiatives, ensuring alignment and compliance.
  15. Contribute to defining key performance indicators for partners to drive accountability.
  16. Consider the bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
  17. Create an environment for effective operations, aligning with Scotiabank’s values, conduct, and control requirements.
  18. Build a high-performance team, fostering an inclusive environment, and managing succession and development planning.
Education / Experience
  1. University degree in Business, Marketing, or relevant insurance industry designations; MBA or MA in Marketing preferred.
  2. Fluency in Spanish is required.
  3. Deep understanding of the insurance industry, regulations, and market dynamics in relevant countries.
  4. Strong strategic, analytical, communication, and management skills.
  5. Proven ability to influence across business lines and geographies, with strong interpersonal skills for matrix management.
  6. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Leadership, coaching, and team-building skills to support professional growth and successful initiative implementation.
