Job description

Job Description - Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), Operations (14761)

At IAMGOLD, we are looking for a seasoned and strategic HR leader to join us as Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), a pivotal role that bridges our corporate HR team and our global Operations sites. This is more than an advisory position; it's an opportunity to shape how people practices support the performance, culture, and future of our operational teams across the globe. The Director, HRBP, Operations will be both a trusted thought partner and an action-oriented leader, guiding and integrating corporate HR strategies into day-to-day operations while ensuring local needs and perspectives are brought forward and addressed with care.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships and creating impact. You will partner closely with senior leaders at our operations sites and within our corporate offices, offering expert guidance on everything from workforce planning and training to investigations, analytics, and strategic HR programs. You will act as a coach to site HR leaders, helping them navigate complex challenges and championing shared solutions. You will also work hand-in-hand with our corporate HR centres of expertise to embed global initiatives such as leadership development, talent mobility, engagement strategies, and our evolving HR technology landscape into site operations. In addition, this role will lead our global mobility function and serve as the point of contact for expatriate-related HR matters.

As a key driver of organizational culture, you will play a leading role in advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across our operations. Whether facilitating corporate priorities such as succession planning and organizational design, advising on labour legislation, or leading change management efforts through times of growth or transformation, you’ll bring a steady hand and thoughtful perspective. Your ability to gather and share data-driven insights will support effective decision-making at all levels, including at the executive and board level, and your strong facilitation skills will be valuable in company-wide leadership sessions and strategic planning discussions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who brings a wealth of HRBP experience with time spent in a leadership capacity, and preferably within a mining or industrial setting. Bilingualism in French and English is required, as is the ability to travel to mine sites across Canada and internationally several times a year. An understanding of Quebec labour legislation and a passion for applying inclusive and psychologically safe practices in everything you do are key to your success in this role.

This position calls for a leader with strong integrity, strategic insight, and a collaborative spirit someone who communicates clearly and directly, builds trust across all levels, and takes pride in supporting others to succeed. If you are driven by purpose and energized by the chance to help shape the future of a global organization while fostering meaningful workplace cultures, we encourage you to apply.
