Job summary

YWCA Saskatoon seeks a Director of Housing & Crisis Services to lead shelter, housing and related crisis services, ensuring the needs of women, children and families are addressed with excellence.

The role partners with the CEO and Leadership Team to shape housing programs, manage budgets, and foster collaboration with government, funders and community partners to place clients at the center of service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading shelter and housing programs.
• Ability to develop and evaluate housing and shelter programs.
• Experience with HR practices including recruitment, supervision, performance management and coaching.
• Strong partnership development with government and funders.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Housing & Crisis Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the YWCA's shelter, housing and related crisis services. The Director is accountable for the continuous improvement of services delivered to women, children and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, housing instability, violence or crisis.

• As a member of Leadership Team, work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and leadership team to deliver services through shelter and residence programs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate housing and shelter programs.
• Follow accepted HR practices in relation to recruitment, supervision, performance management, coaching, performance evaluation, and progressive discipline.
• Ensure that managers are provided with appropriate direction, resources, and support to effectively lead their respective teams.
• Hold overall accountability for the departments annual operating budget and financial performance.
• Build strategic relationships with government, funders, housing providers, Indigenous and community organizations, health and social-service systems and other relevant partners.
• Ensure client experience is central to program design, delivery and evaluation.
