The Ministry of Treasury Board and Finance (TBF) is tasked with high profile and highly impactful work that reaches across all ministries and numerous provincial agencies, and which impacts all Albertans. TBF has responsibility for 42 Acts, in addition to related regulations.
Join the Capital Markets team within Alberta Treasury and Risk Management Division, where you will help shape the Province's financing strategy and support long-term fiscal sustainability. The Capital Markets group is responsible for debt issuance and management, investment portfolio oversight, policy development, and advising on major projects with financing components.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Capital Markets, the Director, Financing provides leadership in managing the Province of Alberta's debt and risk management activities, evaluating complex financing proposals, and supporting corporate finance initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to lead a specialized team, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and contribute to key strategic and financial decisions that deliver value for Albertans.

A university degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related discipline, plus at least seven years of related experience in government financing, treasury, capital markets, corporate finance, institutional investing, or investment banking is required.
Preference will be given to those with 10 years of experience.

This position is a permanent, full-time position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Additional Notes:
