Job summary

Promutuel Group seeks a seasoned financial reporting leader to oversee the federation and group entities' financial statements, tax compliance, and regulatory adherence. You will ensure data integrity, oversee consolidation, and guide a team of 4–6 professionals to deliver timely reports.

You will interact with AMF, manage budgeting controls, and act as subject-matter expert for mutual insurance entities. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Job description

• Oversee the financial reporting activities of the Fédération, Promutuel Reinsurance, and Promutuel Group


• Ensure the quality, integrity, and compliance of financial information produced


• Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and regulatory standards


• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related analyses


• Supervise the consolidation of financial information from the Group’s entities


• Ensure the preparation of tax returns and support the Group’s tax requirements


• Plan and oversee the implementation of changes to accounting and tax standards


• Act as a subject‑matter expert for the mutual insurance companies and the Fédération


• Maintain relationships with the finance departments of the mutual insurance companies


• Monitor regulatory developments from the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) and implement the required processes and controls


• Oversee the preparation of documents submitted to Promutuel’s governing bodies, including annual reports


• Plan and oversee audit processes at the mutual insurance companies


• Supervise the implementation and enhancement of tools required to prepare periodic financial statements


• Oversee financial disclosure documents submitted externally and ensure their compliance and timely delivery


• Plan and oversee general accounting and internal controls for Promutuel Reinsurance


• Develop, implement, and oversee internal and budgetary control measures


• Assess liquidity requirements, plan cash flows, and manage treasury operations


• Serve as a resource person for complex matters


• Analyze the department’s annual results and trends


• Plan, organize, and facilitate team meetings


• Manage the performance of a team of 4 to 6 employees


• Ensure knowledge transfer, assess training needs, and follow up on them


• Manage the department’s human resources and labour relations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in accounting, or equivalent education


• At least 8 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years in management


• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA–CA) designation


• Experience in the insurance industry is an asset


• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite


• Strong management, communication, and leadership skills


• Ability to work effectively with people and rally a team around common objectives
