Job Summary

Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Director, Financial Planning and Business Support (Regional Community Services). Reporting to the Regional Director, Strategic Financial Planning, the role provides strategic and operational decision support across community care and regional programs, liaising with stakeholders to ensure effective planning, monitoring, and reporting. The director also influences resource allocation and oversees key performance indicators, supporting operational sustainability and strategic alignment.

The team includes Managers of Financial Planning and Business Support, Financial Analysts, and other support staff.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading financial planning and decision support for the CoC to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Informing budget processes to optimize resource allocation.
• Overseeing monthly operational reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Identifying opportunities for new initiatives and preparing business cases.
• Reviewing and assessing financial policies for compliance and effectiveness.
• Representing the CoC in committees, negotiations, and external collaborations.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, CPA designation, and at least 10 years of related experience or equivalent.

Knowledge & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial management, and health care disciplines.
• Operational planning, analysis, and reporting expertise.
• Leadership, communication, and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Proficiency in financial systems and advanced computer skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems and work under pressure.
