Position Summary :

Reporting to the Vice President, Engineering this role is accountable for the successful implementation of the engineering standards, process, metrics and strategies that support the high growth and evolution of the organization. Fundamental to the successful implementation of these initiatives is the building of collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. The incumbent will also provide leadership to the engineering team in Western Canada.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Develop and implement a process whereby engineering projects are evaluated and prioritized in a manner that supports the organizations objectives.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and a passion for identifying and pursuing continuous improvement ideas.
  • Establish engineering standards and processes to ensure successful implementation of related initiatives.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for managing capital projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop processes and procedures to establish and clearly communicate project updates to senior management and leadership team.
  • Identify resources deemed necessary to support in house engineering capabilities

Requirements :

  • P.Eng / regional accreditation
  • PMP preferred
  • Min of 15yrs hands on experience managing capital projects
  • Min of 10 years in a management role.
  • Experience in food processing, particularly with regard to animal products or Manufacturing
  • Highly analytical, problem-solving skills, root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with different types of regulatory environments (ex : environment, sanitation, etc.)
  • Strong presentation, communication, negotiation and time management skills.
  • Managed a team and the performance of others to achieve desired results.
