Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a Director, Digital Excellence to establish and lead the Digital Excellence function, driving digital transformation and operational improvements across the business. You will govern portfolio management, capabilities, and adoption of digital initiatives aligned with enterprise priorities.

You will build and sustain capabilities in digital adoption, change management, and data-driven decision making while delivering measurable value and scale across multiple functions.

The Opportunity:

The Director, Digital Excellence is responsible for establishing and leading the Digital Excellence function at Maple Leaf Foods. This role enables the successful execution of Operational Excellence and digital initiatives through effective governance, portfolio management, capability development, benefits realization, and organizational adoption.

Working across business functions, the Director develops the frameworks, standards, and capabilities required to accelerate process digitalization, strengthen data-driven decision making, and improve business performance. The role ensures investments in digital and operational improvement initiatives are aligned to enterprise priorities, executed consistently, and deliver measurable value.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
  • Digital Excellence Strategy – Develop and execute the Digital Excellence strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and Operational Excellence objectives.
  • Governance & Portfolio Management – Establish and lead governance processes for digital and business improvement initiatives, ensuring effective prioritization, decision-making, risk management, and resource alignment.
  • Benefits Realization – Drive accountability for business outcomes by establishing performance measures and ensuring initiatives deliver expected operational, financial, and strategic benefits.
  • Process Digitalization – Partner with business leaders to identify, prioritize, and scale opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and digitize business processes.
  • Capability Development – Build organizational capabilities in digital adoption, change management, innovation, and data-driven decision-making to support sustainable business improvement.
  • Change & Adoption – Lead the adoption of new technologies, processes, and ways of working by embedding effective change management practices across the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation – Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by establishing frameworks that identify, evaluate, and scale opportunities to improve business performance.
