Job description

Alquemy's client is one of Canada's leading financial services institutions. They are seeking a Director - Digital Channel Platforms to join their growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a greenfield environment, helping to build a cloud-native platform for a Cash Management team. The role is responsible for managing channel development and partnering with peers to create a state-of-the-art platform for large corporate clients. The role requires a thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual / practical grounding in both the function and / or area of expertise and related subject areas. The role will ensure that all aspects of the design, development and implementation are on track and meet the highest quality so that clients will have a consistently excellent experience.

Main Responsibilities :

• Directing and managing the delivery of large or complex application development projects.
• Defining strategies and client needs focused on technology development.
• Ensuring high standards and quality of technical work.
• Directing reviews of tools and technologies for improving performance and reducing costs.
• Maintaining relationships with clients; communicating with IT and business management.
• Monitoring prompt response and support for technical issues.
• Directing, motivating, developing and managing performance of onshore and offshore teams.

Requirements :

• 15+ years of experience in modern technology development stacks including common cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with one of the cloud platforms – Azure, AWS, GCP (with corresponding certifications preferred).
• Engineering background with a bachelor's in computer science or related field (master's preferred).
• Experience managing a team of developers to meet sprint development goals.
• Familiarity with Dev Ops, CI / CD, Cloud deployment.
• Domain knowledge of customer journeys in the banking context (Transaction Banking / Cash management is a big plus).
