A leading company is seeking a Director of Debt Investments to support the EVP in managing the debt business. Responsibilities include credit underwriting, business development, and portfolio management. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in commercial mortgage underwriting and a strong client-first mentality.
We are looking for a Director, Debt Investments to join the team at Crestpoint Real Estate Investments Ltd. (“Crestpoint”).
The Director, Debt Investments will be primarily responsible for supporting the EVP, Head of Debt Investments in all areas of the debt business including but not limited to 1) Credit, Underwriting and Due Diligence, 2) Business Development, 3) Portfolio Construction and Operations, and 4) Capital Raising and Client Service. The ideal candidate will be an expert in at least one of these areas with general familiarity in the others and a willingness to learn and develop their skills.
What You Will Be Doing

7-10 years in commercial mortgage (or real estate equity) underwriting, transactions, and / or capital raising
The successful candidate will have a strong focus on risk mitigation, project management, process management, business strategy and a high attention to detail. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a fundamental understanding of the real estate debt industry, an appreciation of the underlying investment performance fundamentals, and advanced communication skills. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have a client-first mentality and a performance-driven mindset.
