As an experienced private investment manager, you now have the opportunity to join a high-performing, experienced and multidisciplinary team and help to implement an evolving mandate!

Depending on years of experience, the individual selected could be placed at the assistant director or director level.

  • Manage part of the private debt portfolio
  • Develop and maintain contacts with institutional investors, securities brokers and other capital market stakeholders
  • Solicit, analyze and negotiate the funding conditions of new private funding opportunities
  • Work with various experts (lawyers, lenders and other stakeholders in transactions)
  • Meet and discuss with managers from issuing companies and their representatives
  • Analyze and monitor documentation related to portfolio investments
  • Analyze the evolution of borrowers’ financial situations
  • Help develop and use referral and credit analysis systems
  • Monitor compliance with previously negotiated guarantees
  • Help develop and implement the private debt team’s strategy
  • Play a mentor role for certain team members
  • Coordinate complex projects or initiatives related to the activities of the private debt team, as required

Skills:

  • Negotiation, decision-making and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • High level of independence combined with a keen interest in working as part of a team

Desired profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Graduate degree in finance and a professional CFA designation
  • More than 10 years of experience relevant to the position, in credit analysis and private equity*
  • Good knowledge of financial markets and private debt
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure industry and project financing (asset)
  • Advanced level of French and English language proficiency, as the role will involve daily strategic verbal and written interactions (about 50% of the time in English) with Toronto-based internal partners within the Investment sector, in both team meetings and presentations. English will also be used for all transactional and business development activities (e.g., participation in meetings with issuers, drafting of investment summaries).
