Descripción del empleo

Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

Treasury Risk Management (TRM) provides independent oversight of the Bank’s liquidity, collateral, and structural balance sheet risks (SIRR), as well as fund transfer pricing (FTP), hedging, and investment activities executed by Group Treasury and other treasury units globally.

The Director, Business Line Liquidity Risk & FTP Oversight, is responsible for leading independent, second-line oversight of business-line liquidity risk and FTP across Scotiabank’s Global Capital Markets (GCM), Global Transaction Banking (GTB), and Canadian Banking (CB) activities, ensuring liquidity risks arising from business strategies and balance sheet usage are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and the Bank’s risk appetite.

    • Balance Sheet and Liquidity - assess the impact of financing activities (e.g., funding diversification, maturity profile, margin and collateral flows, etc.) on the Bank’s balance sheet and liquidity metrics, including Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR).
    • FTP - oversee the independent review, validation, and governance of FTP methodologies, curves, assumptions, liquidity premiums, policy adherence, exceptions, and regulatory alignment, supported by documented risk assessments.
    • Stress testing - review, and challenge liquidity stress testing assumptions in the Bank’s internal liquidity stress testing (iLST) framework, with particular focus on balance-sheet intensive financing activities.
  • Drives automation and data analytics initiatives to improve risk governance, enable business growth, and enhance operational resilience across multiple data sources.
  • Accountable for recommendations of liquidity risk limits for all business activities through Delegated Authority or escalation to the Treasury Risk Committee (TRC) and/or Market Risk Management & Policy Committee (MRMPC).
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
