What is the opportunity?

Wealth Management Canada is a leading financial services organization dedicated to providing exceptional wealth management solutions to high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions. We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to fill the role of Director, Business Intelligence, who will play a critical role in driving business growth, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing our Advisor experience.

The Director, Business Intelligence will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive business intelligence strategy that supports the growth and profitability of Wealth Management Canada. This leader will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of our business intelligence capabilities. A key component of this role will be modernizing our existing technology stacks to align with our overall data strategy, driving both repeatable and ad-hoc reporting for the field, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and external partners to identify opportunities for improvement, optimize business processes, and inform strategic decision-making.

What will you do?

  • Working with the Director, AI and Data Product develop and execute a business intelligence strategy that aligns with the organization's overall goals and objectives

  • Lead the modernization of our existing technology stacks, including the evaluation and implementation of new tools and technologies to support our data and analytical strategies

  • Help guide the evolution of a data environment enables the integration of data from multiple domains, and supports the creation of a single, unified view of our clients and their data

  • Develop and maintain a robust reporting framework that supports both repeatable and ad-hoc reporting for the field, including:

    • Standardized reporting packages for client relationships, performance, and market analysis

    • Ad-hoc reporting capabilities to support field requests and business inquiries

    • Data visualization and dashboarding to enable intuitive and interactive exploration of data

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize business intelligence requirements, and develop solutions to meet those needs

  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on business intelligence and data analytics matters

  • Manage and develop a team of business intelligence professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and development opportunities

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics

  • Develop a roadmap for the modernization of our existing technology stacks, including the retirement of legacy systems and the implementation of new solutions

  • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of new technologies and tools

What do you need to succeed?

  • A degree in Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field

  • Experience working in the financial services industry, particularly in wealth management

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful business intelligence strategies and solutions

  • Strong technical skills, including experience with data warehousing, business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI), and programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python)

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams

  • Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the wealth management industry and its trends and challenges

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and meeting deadlines
