Position Overview:

The Publishing Analytics team has been charged with supporting marketing and product performance insights across our portfolio. We utilize the vast amount of internal and third-party data available to achieve this, providing reporting, tooling, and analysis that elevate various functions in Zynga.

As the Director of Publishing Analytics, you will provide team and technical leadership across our marketing and central publishing analytics teams. Success requires that you build strong relationships with Zynga’s publishing organizations, game studios, partner teams, and executive team. You will work with your teams to propose innovative solutions, prioritize workflows, and coordinate product development and enhancements with our development teams. The stakeholder landscape for this role is large and complex, so it is necessary that you operate strategically to scale your team’s execution by collaborating with partner teams across the company.

What You'll Do:

• Work with large amounts of data to find and lead opportunities to improve the investment efficiency and operational excellence.
• Manage multiple teams of data analysts and scientists to ensure high-quality execution while grooming and growing talent.
• Establish new measurement frameworks for that work for our broad portfolio of games.
• Communicate effectively with executive leadership.
• Use our modern tech stack, Redshift, Databricks and PySpark, Airflow, and Tableau to develop innovative tools.
• Technically engage with the analysts, data scientists, and game teams to provide data-driven insights and guidance with your strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Bolster customer trust and build technical knowledge through execution of ad hoc analyses of high business priority.
• Translate functional requirements into technical solutions to business challenges.
• Ability to distill analysis and communicate recommendations effectively for a diverse set of stakeholders including senior executives.
• Collaborate with partner teams to define areas of opportunity and set priorities.
• Supervise the larger technical direction of projects.
• Develop talent and steer career growth within the team.

What You Bring:

• Demonstrated experience with some or all of the following: predictive modeling, statistics, experimental design, optimization, data visualization.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, effectively managing communication and expectations to drive successful project outcomes.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills; comfortable explaining technical topics to non-technical users.
• Domain knowledge in marketing, mobile gaming, player behavior, business modeling, and forecasting.
• Strong experience in SQL and Python; Adept in at least one visualization tool such as Tableau.
• 10+ years of work experience in data science, machine learning or analytics roles.
• 6+ years of work experience in people management.
• 2+ years of work experience with senior or executive leadership teams as customers
• BS in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative fields; Masters or PhD strongly preferred.
