Job description

Requisition ID: 273484
Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

The Role:

As Director, Affluent Client Deepening, you will lead the day-to-day execution and delivery of affluent client deepening initiatives under the Retail Segmentation Program. This role focuses on operationalizing our approach to deepening Scotiabank relationships with affluent clients, including identifying affluent clients through data and analytics, designing client deepening journeys, enabling frontline execution, preparing frontline teams, tracking performance and benefits realization, and helping embed sustainable outcomes and measurable results.

The incumbent will report to the VP, Special Projects, Canadian Banking, and will be responsible for the implementation of the Affluent Client Deepening pillar, starting in Ontario Region, followed by national rollout and transition to sustained business ownership. Working within the priorities and outcomes approved through the broader Segmentation Program, the role will coordinate assigned workstreams and partner teams, manage risks, dependencies, decisions, and performance, and prepare recommendations and updates to support program governance and senior leadership discussions.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day integrated delivery of affluent client deepening initiatives, including Model Development, Journey Design, Client Identification and Prioritization, Frontline Readiness, Frontline Training, and Program Tracking, ensuring the workstreams collectively deliver against agreed client, business, and program outcomes.

  • Orchestrate execution across all workstreams and their respective leads, maintaining an integrated view of milestones, dependencies, decisions, risks, and issues; mobilizing cross-functional teams; and resolving or escalating barriers to maintain delivery momentum.

  • Translate approved affluent client deepening priorities and design decisions into a practical, integrated delivery roadmap with clear initiatives, milestones, owners, dependencies, decision requirements, and measurable outcomes, and maintain the roadmap as priorities, implementation learnings, and outcomes evolve.

  • Coordinate execution with Products, Channels, Advice, Marketing, Data & Analytics, Technology, Client Experience, Operations, Finance, Risk, and Control, helping establish clear accountabilities and ensuring teams deliver against a common set of affluent client and business outcomes.

  • Lead implementation and scaling of the affluent client deepening approach, beginning in Ontario Region and subsequently rolling out across Canada, incorporating implementation learnings and ensuring required frontline, channel, data, and operational enablers are in place.

  • Support VP-led governance for affluent client deepening by managing workstream coordination, issue and dependency tracking, preparation of decision materials, performance reporting, and escalation of risks or barriers requiring senior leadership attention.

  • Consolidate progress, performance, risks, dependencies, and key decisions across the affluent client deepening workstreams into concise updates and proposed recommendations for the VP and senior leadership forums, helping support timely decisions and ensuring approved actions are carried through to execution.
  • Support the VP in ensuring affluent client deepening priorities, dependencies, timing, and decisions remain coordinated with the broader Segmentation Program, including the Our Right to Win and F’27 Go to Market pillars.
  • Define and monitor the performance measures and benefits realization approach for affluent client deepening, using client, financial, operational, and employee outcomes to assess impact, identify opportunities for improvement, and inform ongoing execution priorities.

  • Manage the delivery plan for transition from transformation execution into sustained business ownership, ensuring clear hand-offs, preservation of program knowledge and decisions, appropriate ongoing governance recommendations, and continued execution momentum following national rollout.

  • Promote a client-centric, insight-led, and outcomes-oriented approach to affluent client deepening, encouraging collaboration, accountability, best-practice sharing, and continuous improvement across workstreams and stakeholder groups.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in retail banking, wealth or affluent client deepening, transformation, or program leadership in financial services, with a demonstrated track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional programs from design through sustained delivery at a Director-equivalent level of accountability and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, economics, analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of affluent client needs and relationship deepening levers, including advice, products, channels, servicing, and client engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into practical execution roadmaps, governance, decisions, and measurable outcomes.
  • Proven program leadership capability, with demonstrated experience leading multiple interdependent workstreams, resolving complex cross-functional issues and dependencies, managing ambiguity, and maintaining delivery momentum.
  • Experience using client insights, data, performance trends, financial outcomes, and benefits realization to inform priorities and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence across senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, creating alignment and accountability in complex environments.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise executive-level recommendations, updates, and decision materials.
  • Results-oriented, analytical, client-centric, collaborative, and comfortable balancing strategy, execution, governance, and benefits realization.
