Hypertec Group in Montreal seeks a Director of Construction (Data Centers) to lead hyperscale data center projects across multiple U.S. locations.

You will oversee mobilization, development, systems integration, and completion, while enforcing safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The role requires 10+ years in construction management of large facilities and 5+ years directing site teams, plus proven experience managing external contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 5+ years direct experience building data centers.
• 10+ years construction management on large-scale facilities.
• Experience managing hyperscale or large data center projects with substantial capital budgets.
• Experience managing external general contractors and subcontractors.
• Leading construction teams across multiple project sites.
• Knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Willingness to travel regularly to the United States.

What You’ll Be Contributing:

• Lead the execution and delivery of hyperscale data center construction projects across multiple U.S. locations;

What Sets You Apart:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred;
• 5+ years of direct experience building data centers;
• 10+ years of construction management experience on large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical facilities;
• Proven experience managing hyperscale or large enterprise data center construction projects with substantial capital budgets;
• Demonstrated experience managing external general contractors and subcontractors;
• Experience leading and managing construction teams across multiple project sites.
• Expertise in large-scale construction project execution and delivery;
• Excellent leadership, contractor management, and stakeholder communication skills;
• Understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and risk management;
• An essential component of this position is regular and consistent business travel, mainly to the United States. It is a requirement of this position that the candidate satisfy the applicable criteria set by the US Immigration and Nationality Act for business travel to the United States, which criteria include, for example, the ability to demonstrate that they are a citizen or national of a country that is eligible for the Visa Waiver Program or are otherwise visa exempt.
