Job summary

LCDS in Ontario is hiring multiple call-in Direct Support Professionals to support people with developmental disabilities in homes and the community. You will help with daily tasks such as meals, personal care, appointments, and budgeting, enabling independence and meaningful participation.

You must have a valid G or G2 license and reliable vehicle, be able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check, and be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Valid "G" or "G2" driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Current NVCPI certification or willing to obtain.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home and community support to people with developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily tasks such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and appointments.
• Facilitate opportunities for skill development, independence and community participation.
• Support budgeting and money management as directed by the person.

What we are hiring for:

We are currently hiring multiple call-in Direct Support Professionals for our locations across Lambton County. Direct Support Professionals make a difference in people's lives by:

• Providing support to people with developmental disabilities in their homes and the community
• Teaching and assisting with daily supports (ex. assistance with meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication administration, appointments, housekeeping responsibilities and money management)
• Facilitating opportunities for individual skill development, independence, personal growth, cultivating relationships in their community and leisure activities as directed by the person

We provide supports in:

Alvinston, Brigden, Corunna, Forest, Petrolia, Sarnia, Oil City, Oil Springs, Watford and Wyoming.

We are also accepting applications for one-to-one support through Passport.

What you will need:

• Valid "G or G2" class license and reliable vehicle
• Be willing to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Current certification in First Aid/CPR required
• Current certification in NVCPI or willing to obtain
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is an asset

Compensation and scheduling:

• $23.59 - $24.28 per hour based on experience
• Call-in - not a set rotation
• Scheduled a mixture of days, afternoons, and weekends
• Opportunities to pick up additional hours (up to 44 hours per week)
