Job summary

Dare Foods is seeking a hands-on professional to operate sophisticated automated packaging machinery in our facility in Canada. You will support packaging procedures with HMI software and ensure strict adherence to food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include start-up, in-process and finished product testing, plus identifying issues and working with maintenance and engineering to implement permanent solutions. Teamwork and dependable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• Post Secondary Education required or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with food processing equipment is preferred.
• Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to food safety and quality standards.

Duties:

• Operate complex automated food packaging machinery
• Use complex software to support packaging procedures (HMI)
• Demonstrate food safety and quality concepts (e.g. cleaning and sanitation of equipment)
• Conduct start up, in process and finished product quality testing based on standards
• Identify issues, determine the root cause, and work with maintenance and engineering teams to develop permanent solutions
• Perform routine technical maintenance to the equipment
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Post Secondary Education
• Skilled in the principles of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing
• Hands on experience with food processing equipment
• Strong technical skills and an analytical approach to problem-solving
• A history of meeting and exceeding challenging performance goals; a desire to “win”
• Ability to perform tasks effectively both individually and as a member of a team
• Understands basic principles of Food Safety and Quality
• Dependable attendance
