Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences invites a Food Service Manager to lead a dedicated kitchen team in delivering nutritious, residents-focused meals. You’ll oversee menu planning, food preparation, staff coaching, and budgeting while ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance across the retirement community in Victoria.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in food service, retirement or healthcare setting.
• Experience with budgeting and cost control.
• Knowledge of local health regulations and food safety standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to plan menus meeting dietary needs.
• Experience with front-of-house/service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily and event menu planning to meet dietary needs.
• Supervise, train, and develop food services staff.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets; optimize purchasing and scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with policies and provincial health regulations.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal partners to maintain high standards.
• Serve as Manager on Duty during weekends.
