Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a part-time Dining Room Supervisor for Glynnwood in Thornhill, on a 30-hour biweekly schedule. The role reports to the Culinary Manager and oversees dining room service, ensuring residents receive exceptional care and attention.

The ideal candidate has a background in Food & Beverage/Hospitality, Safe Serve, and at least three years of fine dining experience in hotels or restaurants.

Qualifications

• Graduate of recognized course in Food & Beverage/Hospitality.
• Completion of service management, guest relations, service excellence, or HR courses.
• Completion of Safe Serve (Ontario) or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years experience in hotel or restaurant fine dining service.
• Ability to manage staff and resources.
• Excellent written and oral English communication.
• Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the dining room activities to provide a high level of service.
• Ensures shift routines are current and monitors workflow for consistency with standards.
• Recruits and orients dining room staff; completes work schedules and approves leaves of absence.
• Provides job analysis and role functions for dietary personnel within their scope of practices.
• Supervises, coaches, redirects, and evaluates dining room staff performance to ensure productivity.
• Resolves personnel problems or refers unresolved issues to Food Services.
