Job summary

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Goodwood, West Sussex (UK) seeks a forward-thinking student for a Digital Innovation - Placement Year. You will join the Assembly Quality Management team and help develop computing solutions to support digitalisation and continuous improvement on the production line.

As an intern you will learn the complexities of the production line, pursue Industry 4.0 initiatives, and work independently from concept through to implemented solutions while collaborating with a

Qualifications

• Studying a Bachelor's or integrated Master's degree and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in a Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant course.
• Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Systems and or Quality Systems.
• Ideally you will have a good knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
• Able to communicate in the English language; German would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop digital solutions to support continuous improvement of product quality.
• Understand the computer systems used within assembly.
• Lead digital innovations toward Industry 4.0 and leverage technology for efficiency.
• Solve complex issues related to production systems.
• Analyze data sets to provide transparency and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support the implementation of the Value Production System and Work Organisation.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood, West Sussex (UK) - Digital Innovation - Placement Year (July 2027)

We are seeking a forward-thinking student that has a passion for technological innovation to join our Assembly Quality Management department. You will play a fundamental part of our journey towards digitalisation and Industry 4.0, as we employ new digital and technological solutions to support the team that build the best car in the world. As an intern you will quickly learn the complexities of our production line and will play a pivotal role in maintaining existing, and developing new computing solutions that help us on our mission to 'take the best that exists and make it better'. • Seeking digital solutions that support with the continuous improvement of the quality of our products.
• Gaining a deep understanding of the computer systems currently in use within assembly.

• Analysis of data sets to give transparency to the existing target environment with a view to offering improvement opportunities.
• Supporting the implementation of the Value Production System and Work Organisation throughout the Assembly process.

What you should bring along:

• Studying a Bachelor's or integrated Master's degree and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in a Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant course.
• Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Systems and or Quality Systems.
• Ideally you will have a good knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
• Able to communicate in the English language; German would be beneficial.
• You need to be able to work independently within the management team, have the ability to organise yourself and work in a team environment.
• You will be required to work from your own initiative taking projects and tasks from concept through to a complete and implemented solution.
• Strong PC skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office.Knowledge of Manufacturing Systems is desirable.
• Any coding experience, such as SQL or Python, is considered advantageous.
