Job summary

Job Description

The Digital Document Management SME provides strategic advisory services and subject matter expertise related to digital document management, electronic records management, document digitization, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) best practices within Microsoft Dynamics 365 environments. This role advises project and business teams on the design, configuration, metadata standards, document classification frameworks, records governance, and workflow optimization required to support paperless business processes and efficient information management. The resource will guide the implementation and use of integrated document management capabilities, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, OPSdocs (OpenText), and Document Core Pack solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Provide advisory services on digital document management, document digitization, and electronic records management strategies.
  • Advise project teams on OCR implementation best practices, document capture processes, metadata standards, and document governance frameworks.
  • Support the design and optimization of document management workflows within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and integrated document management solutions.
  • Develop recommendations for document classification, indexing, searchability, retention, and records lifecycle management.
  • Provide expertise related to the configuration and use of document storage and document generation solutions, including OPSdocs (OpenText) and Document Core Pack.
  • Advise on the transition from paper-based processes to digital and electronic document management practices.
  • Support document governance, compliance, auditability, accessibility, and information management requirements.
  • Recommend approaches for improving document retrieval, traceability, version control, and records management processes.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define metadata structures, information architecture, and document workflow requirements.
  • Support knowledge transfer, governance documentation, and implementation guidance activities.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital document management, electronic records management, and OCR-enabled document processing solutions in an advisory role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in document digitization, document capture, classification, indexing, metadata management, and records lifecycle management.
  • Experience providing advisory services related to OCR technologies, document workflows, and electronic records management.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and enterprise document management platforms.
  • Experience designing metadata standards, document taxonomies, and information governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of records retention, records disposition, compliance, privacy, and audit requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with OpenText, Document Core Pack, SharePoint, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft 365 document management capabilities.
  • Experience supporting public sector information management and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of accessibility requirements applicable to digital documents and records.
  • Experience with document automation, workflow technologies, and intelligent document processing solutions.
  • Relevant certifications in information governance, enterprise content management, records management, or document management technologies.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in digital document management and OCR-enabled information management initiatives.
  • Proven experience providing advisory services on document configuration, metadata standards, document workflows, and electronic records management.
  • Experience supporting digitization and document management programs focused on reducing paper-based processes and improving traceability and accessibility.
  • Experience advising organizations on OCR technologies and electronic records management capabilities to support paperless operations. The OPGT initiative specifically requires technical guidance on OCR and electronic records management practices related to document storage and document generation solutions.

Estimated annual compensation range for this role will be as follows

In Mississauga, ON: $92,740 to $123,375.
