Job summary

Sienna Senior Living invites a Dietitian to join Barnswallow Place Community in Elmira, Ontario as an Independent Contractor. You will lead nutrition care across the home, collaborating with nurses, physicians, and supports, ensuring happiness, dignity, and well‑being through evidence-based interventions.

The role focuses on assessments, reassessments, and tailored nutrition plans, with an emphasis on dementia care, dysphagia management, and hydration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Food and Nutrition with active registration.
• Experience in Long Term Care settings.
• Knowledge of health regulations for dietary and nutrition care.
• Experience with dementia, dysphagia, and nutrition risk management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate individualized nutrition care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Develop therapeutic menus and manage nutrition and hydration risks.
• Educate residents and families to ensure safe, personalized nutritional care.

Dietitian – Independent Contractor

We are currently seeking an exceptional individual to fill a key Dietitian role — someone who will serve as a trusted partner and advocate for resident well‑being. In this role, you will plan, direct, and evaluate individualized nutrition care in close collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive assessments, reassessments, and evidence-based interventions.

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop specialized therapeutic menus, proactively identify and manage nutrition and hydration risks
• Provide nutritional care including assessments, reassessments and develop appropriate nutrition interventions in consultation with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide meaningful education and counseling to residents and their families — ensuring each resident receives safe, personalized, and compassionate nutritional care that enhances dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

Who You Are

• Completed Degree from an accredited Food and Nutrition university program.
• Member of College of Dietitians of Ontario/British Columbia.
• 2 years’ or more experience in a Long Term Care.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care dietary and nutrition regulations.
• Knowledge of appropriate interventions in nutritional care for Long Term Care setting needs
• Experience with dementia, dysphagia, tube feeding, weight management, wound treatment, diabetes, renal disease, food allergies and intolerances.
