Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in the Ottawa area invites applications for a part-time Dietary Aide at Granite Ridge, Stittsville. The role focuses on assisting with meals, serving residents, and following dietary requirements to ensure a safe, welcoming dining experience.

You will be part of a caring Long Term Care team, providing compassionate support, building relationships with residents, and maintaining clean dining areas. Proof of eligibility to work in Canada and background checks are required.

Qualifications

  • Valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Commitment to compassionate support for seniors.
  • Detail-oriented with strong customer service.
  • Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality.
  • Food Service Worker Certificate is excellent but not required.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada or valid work permit.
  • Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check.

  • Assist with meal preparation and serving, following residents' diets and preferences.
  • Set and clear dining tables and maintain sanitation.
  • Contribute to a welcoming dining environment and resident well-being.

Rate of Pay $18.93 - $20.39 (As per Collective Agreement)

Hours of Work: Sat, Sun, Thu, Mon -6am -2pm biweekly

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aideyou will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed
1. Food Preparation & Food Handling
  • Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
  • Follow residents' diets and food preferences
  • Take the menu orders from the residents
  • Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
  • Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques
Who You Are
  • Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
  • You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
  • You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
  • You may bring experiencein food servicefrom institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
  • While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
  • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
