Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Dietary Aide for Granite Ridge, Stittsville. The position is 21 hours biweekly with shifts Sat–Wed 4–7pm, offering a competitive rate of pay between CAD 18.93 and CAD 20.39 per hour under the collective agreement.

As part of the Long Term Care team, you will support residents with meals, follow diets, and contribute to a caring environment. A Safe Food Handler’s certificate is preferred or willingness to obtain, with applicable checks required.

Qualifications

  • Must have Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with meal preparation and serving meals.
  • Follow residents' diets and food preferences.
  • Take menu orders from residents.
  • Set and clear tables in dining rooms and ensure sanitation.
  • Follow proper food handling techniques.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed
1. Food Preparation & Food Handling
  • Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
  • Follow residents' diets and food preferences
  • Take the menu orders from the residents
  • Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
  • Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques
Who You Are
  • Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
  • You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
  • You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
  • You may bring experiencein food servicefrom institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
  • While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
  • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
