Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Barrie, Ontario is seeking a Dietary Aide to join our Long Term Care team. You will support residents with meals, follow dietary requirements, and help maintain a safe, clean dining environment in a fast-paced setting.

This role offers a competitive pay rate of $22.88 per hour (as per collective agreement), benefits, RRSP matching, and opportunities for growth within a compassionate, diverse workplace dedicated to enriching residents' lives.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Safe Food Handler’s certificate or be willing to obtain one.
• Committed to providing compassionate support that helps seniors live life to the fullest.
• Detail-oriented with strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience in food service from healthcare, institutional, restaurant, or hospitality.
• Food Service Worker Certificate is a plus but not required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check required for province.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

• Food Preparation & Food Handling
• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
