Sienna Senior Living in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide for Granite Ridge in Stittsville. The role involves assisting residents with meals in a long-term care setting, delivering compassionate care and building meaningful relationships with residents.

You will prepare and serve meals, follow therapeutic diets, maintain dining areas, and ensure safe food handling. A Safe Food Handler’s certificate is preferred; eligibility to work in Canada and background checks are required.

Hours of Work: Thur, Fri, Tue, Wed, Sat, Sun, Mon 4-7pm

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

• Food Preparation & Food Handling
• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
