Job summary

Sienna Senior Living’s Long Term Care Rockcliffe Community seeks a Dietary Aide for permanent part-time shifts (17:00-21:00). The role supports residents, prepares and serves meals, and ensures a clean, safe dining environment.

Competitive pay aligns with the collective agreement and supports our mission to deliver compassionate, dignified care. You must have Safe Food Handler’s or be willing to obtain one, with formal Food Service Worker training preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in food service within institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As aDietary Aideyou will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

1. Food Preparation & Food Handling

• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experiencein food servicefrom institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
