Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is hiring a Dietary Aide at Silverthorn Community in Mississauga to join our long-term care team. This permanent part-time role supports residents with meals, following dietary plans and maintaining safe, clean dining environments.

You will assist with meal prep and service, take menu orders, and ensure residents' preferences are respected. A Safe Food Handler’s Certificate is preferred; passing checks are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Commitment to compassionate support for seniors to live with dignity.
• Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality.
• Willingness to pass Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check (Ontario/BC).

As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

• Food Preparation & Food Handling
• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.
