Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Dietary Aide on a permanent part-time basis at Silverthorn Community in Mississauga. The role focuses on compassionate care and assisting with dietary services to residents, following diets and ensuring a clean, safe dining environment.

Responsibilities include food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining high standards of resident communication and teamwork. A supportive, inclusive culture and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain.
• Commitment to providing compassionate support for seniors.
• Detailed-oriented with strong customer service helping communication with residents and staff.
• Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality.
• Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent but not required.
• All applicants must pass Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario).
• All applicants must pass Criminal Records Check (British Columbia).

• Set and clear tables, ensuring dining areas are sanitized and safe.

As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

1. Food Preparation & Food Handling

• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.
