Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Dietary Aide for Muskoka Shores Community. In Long Term Care, you’ll support residents by preparing and serving meals, while honoring individual diets and preferences.

Qualifications

• Valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Commitment to compassionate support for seniors to live life to the fullest.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication and customer service.
• Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant or hospitality.
• Food Service Worker Certificate is a plus but not required.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
• Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Record Check as required.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aideyou will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’.

How You’ll Succeed

1. Food Preparation & Food Handling

• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experiencein food servicefrom institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
