Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Dietary Aide/ Food Service Worker in Ancaster, Ontario for an evening shift (3:45pm–6:45pm). You will support residents during meals, assist with setup, service, and cleanup, and help maintain a clean dining environment.

Applicants should have a Food Handler's Certificate or be willing to obtain one. Prior food service experience with seniors is preferred, with strong customer service and physical endurance for lifting and standing during shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have or be willing to apply for a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Food Service Worker cert or in FSW program is an asset.
• Previous food service experience with seniors preferred.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Physically able to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.
• Cooking experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional manner.
• Assist in setup and preparation for service of meals and beverages.
• Set and clear dining tables; deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and dining area.
• Maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness.
• Assist with catering and participate in special events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary staff.
• Follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
• Comply with provincial regulations and department policies.
• Respect Resident Rights and Responsibilities; attend in-service training.
• Attend staff meetings to stay updated on residence changes.

Job Description

The Dietary Worker provides patient support during meal services. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

Adress : The Meadows LTc , 12 Tranquility avenue, ancaster Ontario L9G 5C2

Timings : Evening 3 hours shift ( 3:45pm to 6:45 pm)

Job Responsibilities

• To establish, extract, evaluate and document the needs of the business with regards to custom application development
• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner;
• To assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, breakfast, soup and lunch preparation etc.
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required;
• To assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each seating as required
• To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required
• To assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events
• To assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees
• To follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
• To comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures
• To be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it
• To attend in-service training as required in order to better serve the needs of the residents
• To attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in Residence that have taken place

To complete all other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate or willing to apply.
• Food Service Worker Certificate or be enrolled in the FSW program is an asset( but not requirement)
• Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
• Cooking experience is an asset
