Job summary

Shannex Incorporated in Miramichi, NB is seeking a Casual Dietary Aide to join Bridgeview Hall. This role offers no guaranteed hours and requires flexible availability including weekends and holidays.

You will help ensure meals meet quality and safety standards, follow production sheets, assist with deliveries and inventory, and support residents with compassionate service. The position includes on-site parking and access to Shannex’s education programs and perks; prior food service experience

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or GED.
• Food Handlers Certification (preferred).
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts (including weekends and holidays).
• Strong customer service skills and a passion for serving seniors.
• Some experience in the culinary field and are familiar with preparing plates for clients.
• Previous experience working with the elderly is an asset.
• Advanced proficiency in English; French considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Consistently ensures food quality, presentation, and service delivery meet established department standards.
• Follows production sheets to guide food preparation and assist with cost control.
• Familiarizes self with the specific needs of each client (diet restrictions, allergies, and special requests).
• Assists with checking/receiving deliveries and inventory control; ensures supplies are stored, labeled, and rotated properly.
• Participates in incident reporting and investigation processes as required.
• Reports areas/equipment needing repair to the maintenance department.
• Ensures kitchen appearance meets standards for cleanliness and organization.

About You
