AgeCare is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team at AgeCare West Williams, Kitchener, ON. You will support residents' dietary needs, assist with setup, service, and cleanup of meals, and help maintain a pleasant dining experience.

You will report to the Dietary Manager and participate in training, with health benefits and PTO as part of our offering. Prior food service experience with seniors is preferred, and a Food Handler's Certificate is required.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's Certificate is required.
• Experience in food service with seniors preferred.
• Must be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for most of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in setup and preparation for service of meals and beverages.
• Set and clear dining tables; deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and maintain dining area cleanliness.
• Assist with catering and participate in special events and theme events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary staff.
• Follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
• Comply with provincial regulations and department policies.

The Opportunity AgeCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring they receive appealing meals in a welcoming atmosphere. As a Dietary Aide at AgeCare, reporting to the Director or Dietary Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. You will assist with the setup, preparation, serving, and cleanup of all meal services.

What You Will Do

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware, and cutlery after each seating as required.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area as required.
• Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees.
• Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
• Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.

What You Bring

• Food Handler's Certificate is required.
• Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors.
• Must have or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Must be able to provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Record Check, or be willing to obtain one.
