• Clear vulnerable sector screening and recent medical tests are mandatory.

The Dietary Aide reports to the Culinary Services Manager and is responsible for demonstrating commitment to resident safety by preparing and / or serving meals as directed by the cook, and providing high-quality care aligned with the organization's vision and mission.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals in a pleasant, courteous manner
• Assist the cook in preparing, plating, and serving food
• Respect residents' dietary preferences and requirements
• Ensure meals are a positive experience
• Maintain cleanliness of serveries, tables, storage areas, fridges, and freezers
• Clean and reset tables, remove dishes, and operate dishwashers properly
• Collaborate with Food Services and other departments
• Support FIFO processes
• Maintain a clean environment by vacuuming and mopping floors as needed
• Participate in ongoing education and training
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Current food handling certificate from a recognized authority
• Food service experience required
• Experience in healthcare or hospitality is an asset
• Understanding and empathy for seniors' needs
• Knowledge of HACCP, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, Sanitation Code
• Ability to serve food attractively and accurately
• Physical and mental ability to perform duties
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills
• Teamwork skills and positive social interaction abilities
• Clear vulnerable sector screening, recent TB test or Chest X-ray, and two supervisory references
