Responsibilities
- Deliver meals in a pleasant, courteous manner.
- Assist the cook in preparing, plating, and serving food as requested.
- Respect residents' preferences and adhere to dietary requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness of serveries, tables, food storage areas, fridges, and freezers.
- Clean and reset tables, remove dishes, and operate dishwashers properly.
- Collaborate with Food Services and other departments.
- Support FIFO processes.
- Vacuum and damp mop floors as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in required education and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current food handling certificate or recent completion of a food handler training program.
- Food service experience required.
- Experience in healthcare or hospitality is an asset.
- Understanding and empathy for seniors' needs.
- Familiarity with HACCP, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, Sanitation Code.
- Knowledge of food handling and storage.
- Ability to serve food attractively and accurately.
- Physical and mental ability to perform duties.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid vulnerable sector screening, recent TB test or Chest X-ray, and supervisory references.
