Responsibilities

• Deliver meals in a pleasant, courteous manner.
• Assist the cook in preparing, plating, and serving food as requested.
• Respect residents' preferences and adhere to dietary requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of serveries, tables, food storage areas, fridges, and freezers.
• Clean and reset tables, remove dishes, and operate dishwashers properly.
• Collaborate with Food Services and other departments.
• Support FIFO processes.
• Vacuum and damp mop floors as needed.
• Ensure a safe working environment.
• Participate in required education and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current food handling certificate or recent completion of a food handler training program.
• Food service experience required.
• Experience in healthcare or hospitality is an asset.
• Understanding and empathy for seniors' needs.
• Familiarity with HACCP, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, Sanitation Code.
• Knowledge of food handling and storage.
• Ability to serve food attractively and accurately.
• Physical and mental ability to perform duties.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Valid vulnerable sector screening, recent TB test or Chest X-ray, and supervisory references.
