Greenwood Retirement Communities in Peterborough, ON is hiring a Dietary Aide for casual temporary work. The role offers an hourly wage starting at $19.54, with morning shifts 7:00 am to 2:45 pm during weekdays, and every other weekend with 4-8 pm or call-ins. Start date ASAP.

You will support meal services, assist with dining room setup, dessert prep, dishwashing, and maintain a warm, friendly dining environment for residents. Previous hospitality or food service experience is preferred.

Formación

• Ability to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of basic sanitation controls and cleaning supplies.
• A food handlers certificate is a plus.
• Kitchen experience is advantageous for this role.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and organize desserts and dish-washing station.
• Ensure all mealtimes are a pleasant dining experience for residents and their families.
• Deliver services in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
• Maintain confidentiality of facility information.
• Assist with dining room set-up, take meal orders and serve meals; dessert prep as needed.
• Dish-washing and kitchen duties as posted in routine.

Dietary Aide

Must be able to work morning shifts 7:00 am -2:45pm during the week and weekends.

Every other weekend 4-8pm or call ins.

Requirements:

Preference will be given to individuals who have experience in hospitality, retirement living, and a food handlers certificate.

We are looking for someone whois:

• Able to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
• Knowledge of basic sanitation controls and use of cleaning supplies
• Kitchen experience would be an asset
• Ability to use necessary precautions with regards to food safety and hygiene standards
• Able to work accurately, quickly and safely
• Organized, an effective worker and effective TEAM player
• Possesses a positive attitude and patience with residents and fellow staff members
• Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for the majority of the shift

Responsibilities:

• Able to plan and organize desserts and dish-washing station
• The dietary aid is responsible for ensuring that all mealtimes are a pleasant dining experience on a consistent basis for the resident and their families.
• To ensure that services are delivered in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
• Maintain confidentiality of all facility information.
• Assist with preparation and set up of dining rooms for meal service, take resident meal orders and serve meals. Dessert prep and plating as needed
• Dish-washing and kitchen duties as per posted job routine
