Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Dietary Aide to create a welcoming dining experience for residents and guests. You will ensure meals are served with warmth, manage tableside orders, and maintain a clean, efficient dining space.

Ideal candidates bring a secondary education, food handler certification, and experience in service or customer-facing roles. The role supports a fast-paced environment with teamwork and attention to detail as core strengths.

  • Food handler certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Take and deliver tableside food and beverage orders promptly and professionally.
  • Provide attentive service reflecting residents’ preferences and tastes.
  • Set up the dining room and clear tables per Chartwell standards.
  • Keep the dining area clean and organized for safety and efficiency.
  • Wash, dry, and store dishes and equipment following health rules.

As a Dietary Aide at Chartwell, you’ll ensure residents and guests enjoy delicious meals served with warmth and attention to detail. Your friendly service, organization, and commitment to quality will help make every mealtime special.

What You’ll Do
  • Take and deliver tableside food and beverage orders promptly and professionally
  • Provide attentive service that reflects residents’ preferences and personal tastes
  • Set up the dining room and clear tables following Chartwell standards
  • Maintain clean and organized area to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Wash, dry, and store dishes, and equipment while following all health & safety rules
What You’ll Bring
  • Secondary School education or equivalent
  • Food Handler Certification (training provided if not already certified)
  • Experience as server or in customer service role
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced setting and attentive to detail

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Physical ability to meet job demands, including standing for long periods, lifting and carrying heavy items, and handling kitchen tools safely
  • Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
  • Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
