A Diesel Technician III at Penske is a mechanic’s helper/apprentice performing minor repairs, assisting with major component repairs, and other duties under supervision.

Major Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and adjustments (brakes, electrical, cab components, trailer maintenance)
• Conduct preventive maintenance
• Assist with mechanical repairs and replacements
• Customer service duties
• Vehicle pickup and delivery
• Maintain safety and work area appearance
• Use hand and power tools
• Routine maintenance tasks
• Raise trucks and heavy parts
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ vehicle or truck repair experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational/Technical certification preferred
• Enrolled in an apprentice program
• Valid driver’s license (G/5), ability to obtain DZ within 6 months
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
• Reliable attendance
• Willingness to travel within district

Physical Requirements

• Lift/move up to 12kg regularly, up to 23kg frequently, up to 45kg occasionally
• Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment
• Stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach
