Job summary

Valley Equipment Ltd in Fredericton (Hanwell) is seeking an apprentice Truck Mechanic to join our NB team. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of large transport trucks, including diagnosing issues and performing scheduled service.

Qualifications

• Truck Mechanic License will be an asset.
• Previous dealership experience is considered an asset
• Computer diagnostics & repair skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Repairing and replacing parts and components of commercial truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems
• Inspect and test engines to locate faults and malfunctions
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
• Estimate parts and labour costs
• Perform scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance service
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed
• Review work orders and discuss work with Service Advisor
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
