Job summary

The Municipal Group of Companies’ Equipment and Maintenance Team is seeking a Truck and Transport Mechanic in Fredericton to join our skilled field service group. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs and scheduled maintenance on transport truck and trailer systems, document work performed, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified trade certificate or registered apprenticeship in truck and transport mechanic.
• Strong attention to detail and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and malfunctions within transport truck and truck trailer systems and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace parts and/or components.
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of transport truck and truck trailer systems.
• Test repaired systems to ensure performance within manufacturer's specifications.
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
• Perform scheduled maintenance activities.
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Municipal Group of Companies’ Equipment and Maintenance Team oversees the maintenance, compliance, and operational integrity of one of Eastern Canada’s most diverse equipment fleets. Through a network of more than 25 maintenance shops, our teams deliver standardized service processes, asset management support, and technical expertise across all operating divisions. Our work is executed by qualified trades professionals and supported by formalized training, certification, and career development systems. We are currently seeking a Truck and Transport Mechanic, based out of Fredericton, to join our team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and malfunctions within transport truck and truck trailer systems and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace parts and/or components.
