Qualifications

• Technische Zertifizierung bevorzugt, CDL Klasse A Lizenz ist von Vorteil.

Summary

Friday to Monday - Swing shift (2 weeks 6:30-3pm / 3-11:30pm)

The Technician IV performs major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls/rebuilds in a timely manner, ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines, and reliability goals are met. The T4 works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and mentors other Ryder technicians regularly. The Technician IV provides the highest level of experience and expertise in vehicle diagnostics and repair. The position also plays a key role in leadership, development, and training of other grade technicians. The T4 may specialize in areas such as refrigeration, electronics, exhaust systems, etc., and should possess extensive vehicle transportation experience, ASE certifications, and/or multiple Ryder Qualifications.

Essential Functions

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard maintenance, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs with minimal support, utilizing diagnostic computers/software.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and advises other technicians on maintenance procedures and diagnostics.
• Mentors and coaches other technicians and advises shop management on repairs.
• Utilizes shop management systems and complies with all safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Supports operational duties, including service island support.

Additional Responsibilities

Includes tire and wheel maintenance, preventive maintenance, brake repairs (air and hydraulic), A/C, refrigeration, cargo handling, electrical systems, clutch, cooling systems, drive axles, drive line, engines, fuel systems, steering, suspension, vehicle coupling, and decision-making responsibilities.

• Strong mechanical skills and proficiency in diagnostics, overhaul, and repair.
• Ability to read, listen, and understand information effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable, available for on-call and shift work, and capable of working independently or in a team.
• Highly organized with excellent time management and follow-up skills.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred; post-secondary degree or certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in automotive repair, including diagnostics and major engine repairs.
• At least four years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A license is preferred.
• Other certifications as required by location.
