Job summary

Manpower is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (310T) for Kanata, ON. The role runs Monday to Thursday, 11:30am-8pm, and Friday 10:30am-7pm, totaling 40 hours per week with a pay rate of $49.40 per hour.

The successful candidate will hold a 310T certification and a valid driver's license with a clean driving history, and have 3-5 years of automotive repair experience using computerized maintenance systems.

Qualifications

• Trade certification as Heavy Diesel Mechanic (310T) to inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
• Valid Class G Driver's License (Class A preferred)
• 3-5 years of experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining automotive equipment.
• Prior experience with computerized maintenance systems & procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair delivery and related vehicles to meet safety, operational, and productivity standards.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and report quality issues; determine repairs or warranty considerations.
• Maintain parts inventory and coordinate parts purchases for maintenance and repairs.

Job Description

• Inspect, service, and repair delivery and related vehicles to meet vehicle safety, operational, and productivity goals and standards
• Conduct maintenance and repairs, order parts, document and update work orders, communicate with suppliers and operations, etc.)
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and report quality control issues (e.g., wipers not working) to determine their cause and identify if mechanical or general repairs or changes to the vehicle warranty are required
• Conduct repairs, order and install parts, and inform customers of the status of repairs.
• Maintain parts inventory and purchase parts required for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Determines if parts can be rebuilt or repaired and returned to the active inventory.
• Coordinate administrative requirements for preventative maintenance
• Provide emergency road service when vehicles break down on route to assess if the vehicle can be repaired on site
• Identifies root causes and repair options (e.g., location of repair, payment options, parts or other materials required, methods of payment, etc.)
• Arrange for trucks to be picked up through third party vendors (towing companies), etc.).

Qualifications
