About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. This is a hands-on position perfect for someone with at least 2 years of diesel experience in a fleet maintenance or heavy-duty repair facility. Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance, oil changes, and California DOT inspections on gas and diesel fleet vehicles.
Service and repair semi-trucks, trailers, roll-off trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, belt trailers, and other fleet equipment.
Conduct brake jobs, tire changes, filter replacements, wheel seal repairs, air bag servicing, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
Assist with welding tasks and perform light welding as needed.
Mount and dismount truck tires using proper equipment.
Pull and organize parts for senior mechanics.
Support senior technicians and take direction for skill development.
Help with shop clean-up and general housekeeping duties.
Operate manual transmission vehicles and forklifts safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on lube tech experience in a fleet repair or diesel shop environment.
Basic knowledge of diesel and gas engine maintenance.
Comfortable using hand tools; owning basic tools is a plus.
Ability to lift over 60 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks.
Good hand-eye coordination and time management skills.
Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions and complete maintenance reports.
Willingness to work as part of a team and assist where needed.
Skills:
Familiarity with DOT compliance standards.
Welding experience is a strong plus.
Willingness to cross-train and grow within the company.
