Position Information
This is a Corporate position, with the home base at the Civic Campus.
The Dialysis Technician performs corrective and preventive medical equipment maintenance, clinical staff training and in-service of equipment, safety inspections, calibrations, quality assurance, equipment design and testing, determine clinical needs and requirements for new equipment, provide technological guidance for ageing and defective equipment, suggest replacement schedules and renewal, assist in the disposal of surplus equipment.
Rotation/Shifts
Days, including weekends, 8 and 12 hour shifts. Must be available for stand by and call back on evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays.

Basic Requirements
- Diploma in Electronics (3 year program) from a recognized College of Applied Arts and Technology OR an equivalent combination of experience and education;
- Ability to move and maneuver a dialysis machine and associated water treatment equipement;
- Working knowledge of general physics, anatomy, mechanical and/or hydraulic systems;
- Ability to provide training to staff and patients;
- Experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;
- Valid G Class (or equivalent) Driver's Licence;
- Working knowledge of WHMIS;
- Ability to understand and interpret schematic diagrams;
- Ability to service and calibrate electronic equipment;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Sound judgement and problem solving skills;
- Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- OACETT/CNephT;
- CPR / First Aid;
- Sound knowledge of the operation of dialysis equipment and CSA and CANNT technical standards;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
