Alberta Health Services in Lethbridge, AB, is seeking a Diagnostic Sonographer I for a 1.0 FTE role in the Diagnostic Imaging unit. The incumbent will perform a wide range of ultrasound studies, including general and cardiac imaging, and will prepare patients, review histories, and obtain high-quality images.

The position requires completion of an extended ultrasound diploma, registration or eligibility with ACMDTT, and BCLS-HCP. CRGS/CRCS credentials are considered.

Qualifications

  • Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Active or eligible for registration with ACMDTT.
  • Current BCLS-HCP.
  • CRGS and CRCS credential possible.
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts including on call.
  • Experience with pediatric patients is an asset.
  • Student preceptor experience training ultrasound students is an asset.
  • IV certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound studies.
  • Prepare the patient for examination and review history.
  • Explain procedures and obtain diagnostic ultrasound images.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists, Cardiologists and other staff during procedures.
  • Assist with diagnosis and patient management.
  • Ensure patient care and safety throughout examinations.

Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta, is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a 1.0 FTE Sonographer I to join our dedicated team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, your responsibilities will include performing accurate sonographic examinations to investigate, document and provide information about pathology while applying critical thinking and collaboration with Radiologists, Cardiologists, fellow Sonographers and other medical support staff. You will perform a wide variety of exams including both general and cardiac imaging studies. Description:
As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and takes initial action to resolve abnormal findings. You will assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management all while ensuring a high level of patient care and safety. Your work may include assisting Radiologists and Cardiologists, Perinatologists and other medical staff with special procedures where required.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Canadian Registered Generalist Sonographer (CRGS), Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS). Consideration will be given to candidates who are eligible for CRGS and CRCS credential. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position. Must be able to work all scheduled shifts including on call.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with pediatric patients is an asset. Student preceptor experience training ultrasound students is an asset. IV certification is an asset.
