Job summary

Island Health is seeking a full-time General Radiologist to cover North Island hospitals in Comox Valley and Campbell River. The role includes CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, breast imaging, and basic interventional procedures within a PACS-enabled environment.

Candidates must hold RCPSC Radiology certification and full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. Start date is as soon as possible, with potential to reside in either Campbell River or Comox.

Qualifications

• Hold RCPSC certification in Radiology and full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
• Commitment to general radiology services including CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and breast imaging.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT, MRI, ultrasound, DR and fluoroscopy procedures.
• Contribute to breast imaging and basic non-vascular interventional procedures.
• Residency in Campbell River or Comox, BC, with potential start as soon as possible.

Role and Facility Information

The Island Health Department of Medical Imaging is seeking a full time General Radiologist for the North Island hospitals Comox Valley and Campbell River.

These facilities opened in the fall of 2017 and medical Imaging services at both hospitals include: general x-ray, two fixed MRI, on-site CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound and interventional procedures, all within a fully functional PACS environment. Additionally, at the Comox Valley Hospital, there is nuclear medicine service.

Eligible candidates must hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Radiology and full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.

The position includes CT, MRI, US, DR, Fluoroscopy procedures, breast imaging, and basic non-vascular interventional procedures. The successful candidate may elect to reside in either Campbell River or Comox.

Start date: as soon as possible.

• CME payments of $3000 in years 3 and 4 and $6000 after 4 years.
