Job summary

Qualifications

  • Work includes all facets of Medical Imaging and minor interventional procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic radiology services across multiple sites including major hospitals.
  • Take after-hours/on-call shifts approximately 1 in 6.
  • Participate in teaching residents through UBC Department of Radiology and medical students through UBC Island Medical Program.

Education

Job description

The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) Department of Medical Imaging in Victoria is seeking Diagnostic Radiologist to work full time in Victoria.

The group consists of 26 radiologists who cover the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, Saanich Peninsula Hospital, Lady Minto Hospital, Cowichan District Hospital, the BC Cancer Agency and a variety of clinics.

Eligible candidates must hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Diagnostic Radiology and be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. Preference will be given to applicants with fellowship training in neuroradiology and breast imaging.

Preference will be given to candidates holding either subspecialty training, or significant clinical experience. We will consider a variety of specialty interests/training. Experience with breast imaging, including screening, would be an asset. The work includes all facets of Medical Imaging and applicants must be comfortable with minor interventional procedures.

After hours/on call services are required, with a frequency of approximately 1 in 6, and participation in resident teaching through the UBC Department of Radiology, and medical student teaching through the UBC Island Medical Program.
